Percutaneous nucleotomy (decompressor)

There are various methods for volume reduction within the intervertebral disc. This can be useful in certain forms of herniated discs. It should be small incidents that are ideally centered and where the rear longitudinal ligament is intact. Patients often complain of back pain and less about pain in the leg.

Due to the so-called intradiscal volume reduction a space is then created, that the prolapsed disc tissue is transported back into the disc space from the elastic posterior longitudinal ligament. The rear longitudinal ligament is full of pain fibers and therefore pressure on the rear longitudinal ligament causes pain. Through relieve the pain is effectively treated.
